A Gypsy's Prom

Once upon a time in a land far, far in the middle of nowhere, there was a little something called Texas Antiques Week. Living outside of the town of Warrenton, TX where the festival is held, I am a native to this eclectic event. Antique Week is one of the largest antique festivals in the world, covering acres and acres of pastures filled with a variety of vendors. Though the fest is named for the assortment of antique dealers that travel from near and far, there are also countless booths packed with clothing, jewelry, handcrafted goods, vintage finds and everything in between. It's heaven for a self-proclaimed "southern gypsy with vintage boots" kinda girl like me.

Now that I have explained Antique Week, I can explain the JuNk-o-RaMa Prom. It's a magical, whimsical celebration under the stars, tents and streams of string lights in the middle of the pastures of antiques, complete with a band and of course the spirits of your choosing. Who are the masterminds behind the eccentric prom? The Junk Gypsy girls. The sister-duo that you may have seen on HGTV collect, design, refurbish and live all things junk. From what I've gathered from growing up going to Antique Week (my momma started teaching me young) is that the Junk Gypsy empire is an all-in-the-family business that's a conglomeration of hard work, fun, elbow grease and a lot of heart.

JuNk-o-RaMa Prom fell on my 22nd birthday this year. Though I was sporting some Junk Gypsy jewels, blinding sequin skirt and red boots (signed by Taylor Swift, might I add), I felt underdressed. Being a JG Prom veteran, I should have known better.

I highly suggest you put Texas Antiques Week on your bucket list and make the trek to Warrenton, TX. You won't regret it. As always, I'll leave you with some inspiration...
